- Date and Time
Backdrop Plus shows you the current date and time and, if tapped, opens up the Alarm Clock - Free Heap
At the Top of the screen, Backdrop Plus displays the current amount of heap that is available to your Newton. - Battery Status
A bar at the top of the screen shows you when your batteries need to be charged or replaced. - User Information
Backdrop Plus adds a personal touch to your screen. It shows your name, company, phone number, and whatever else you desire.
- Backlight Toggle
Tap the Backlight Toggle icon to turn your backlighting off or on. This feature only works on Newtons with backlighting.
- Sound Toggle
Tap the Sound Toggle to set the volume of the sound on your Newton.
- Storage Toggle
Tapping on the Storage Toggle sets whether new packages are stored on the card, or in internal memory.
- Quick Note
Quick Note opens the NotePad to the default note that you select. It is just like a normal note, but if you don't write anything in the note, then the note is discarded when closed. If you tap and hold on the Quick Note, brings up a list of all available types of stationery.
- NotePad Button
The NotePad Button brings you directly to the NotePad. If you tap and hold on this button, then a list of the NotePad folders appears.
- Rotate Button
The Rotate Button makes it easy to rotate your Newton or eMate's screen alignment. If you tap and hold the Rotate Button, it restarts your Newton.
- Extras Button
The Extras Button opens the Extras Drawer to the folder that you select. If you tap and hold on this button, you will put the Newton or eMate to sleep.
- Apps Button
Tap the Apps button to bring up a list of all the apps you have chosen to include. If you tap on an item from this list, it launches the program.
- Icon Dock
You can place icons from the Extras Drawer on your backdrop. If you tap any of these icons, it will launch the program.
You can also customize Backdrop Plus for yourself, or your company. If you provide us with your icon, we can include it as the graphic for Backdrop Plus. It makes Backdrop Plus the perfect addition for a company Newton. It costs an additional $30 for us to customize Backdrop Plus.
