Speed makes it fast and easy to find names in your Names file. You have the choice of four different ways to search for Names. There are two versions of Speed: one for the 1.x OS, and one for the 2.x OS. Speed for the 2.x OS has four enhancements for your Names searches. All the screen shots are of the 2.x version.
You can use the floating Scribble Window as a way to quickly access your names. It lets you access names by writing the first few letters of the name into the window. You can also create a new name by tapping the N button.
If you are using a Message Pad with silk-screen buttons (MP130's and earlier), you can use them to search for names. Just write the first few letters of a name on to of the Names silk-screen button. If you write a single letter into this space, the Names file opens the Overview mode to that letter.
The Popup Menu brings up a list of all the letters in the alphabet. Tap on one to open the Names file to that letter.
The fourth method of searching for names is through the Mini Keyboard. Just tap out the first three letters of a person's last name to open that name.
Speed for the 1.x OS has all of the enhancements that the version for the 2.x OS, but it also can speed up the Names and Notes function of a 1.x OS by over 1000 percent.
