Package Popup adds a small button to the NotePad's status bar.
When you tap on this button, it brings up a list of all the programs installed on your Newton. If you tap on any of these packages, it will launch them. All frozen packages are designated with a snowflake. If you launch a frozen package, it will automatically thaw when activated, and will automatically freeze when it is closed. It also includes three special items that rotate the screen, put the Newton to sleep, or Restart your Newton.
The preferences let you customize the popup list to suit your needs. You can have it show applications in some folders, and not others. You can choose not to show frozen applications, and also whether or not to include the special options.
You can always see the full menu of all of your applications by tapping and holding the Popup button.If you tap and hold on the Popup button until it squeaks twice, Package Popup performs a garbage collection.
